I recently got my hair cut this way, and I love it. It has short layers in it now, that when straightened just fall flat down my head. (Basically like this: http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e163/w... ) I'd like to be able to spike them out like in the picture. What kind of products should I try? Gel, wax, hairspray? How should I work the products in my hair? (When it's wet, dry, etc.)

I have a flat iron and a blow drier, by the way.

Okay.. blowdry your hair with your head upside down.. then flat iron..

Starting from the part of your hair on all sides.. grab a 1/4 inch section an inch from your part and backcomb like .. crazy and use aerosol hairspray (something cheap and tacky) to hold the backcombing in place..

Then an inch down from that section grab another 1/4 inch sectiong and back comb again.. repeat over and over untill your hair is almost wonderful..

then go through your hair once again and mildly backcomb ALL of it at the roots.. Secure with hairspray..

Then grab your flat iron and go over all the tips of your hair.

The bangs are easy.. just get them where you want them and straight.. and hairspray at the roots with a clear residue hairspray.

it looks good the way you have it. my hair is cut the same way. blow dry your hair upside down first and personaly i think wax it heavy, trya freeze spray. its about the texture of your hair too. find out what your stylist suggests.

Well i like it straight but you should use gel prob. i Think ur hair is beautiful!!! Just experiment and play around with it. find a style you like.

well this is obviously an emo haircut im kind of emo scene and my hair is exactly like the first pic. all u have to do is back comb ur hair hold a small piece of hair each time and grab a comb and just brush it back onto the hair. finish with hair spray. email me for more questions x x
