Are braids attractive on Black women over 40?

Tired of fooling with my fine hair. Braids are time consuming to put in but then I don't have to ravage my poor hair for a while.

I'm not sure they are the best style for an older woman. When I have them I still dress professionally as required for the occasion but I just want some style opinions. Cutting it all off may be cold in the winter and short styles require a lot of heat styling (my hair hates it).

that depends. i saw someone who had a bunch of gray hair in her braids. and that didn't look to nice. Braids are okay. though i really love the elaborate hair styles that black women have. my hair would never work that way!!!! i'm jealous.

I don't think age really matters. I think it would matter more your face shape, etc. and how you feel with your hair like that. I've seen some beautiful 40 yr old women who can wear their hair any way and still look nice. One word of caution though--I noticed you said you have fine hair and be careful about pulling your hair too tight for too long of periods of time as it can cause something called "traction alopecia" which means your hairs will break off from the pulling of it. Maybe it would be nicer to go for a short hairstyle that can be worn naturally. Good luck

Then you have to make you braids feminine try some color or smaller braids maybe some close together we call them kiss braids. You can even try curling the ends of them i always do that cause i think braids can look a little hard.
