What are some things you can do with a short haircut???

i just got my hair cut really short today, but it didnt turn out how i wanted it to, and i think its really ugly

Anyways, short hair is cool because it's wash-n-go...very little maintainence. Depending on how short it is, you can probably just add some gel or pomade to it, tossle it with your hands and you're done. You can spike it, flip it, or try some cute barrettes and headbands. Go to the bookstore and look at some hair magazines to get more ideas.

I got my hair cut for locks of love about 4 months ago. (I had 11 inches cut off!) and I LOVE my hair....I think you will too...it just takes a little getting used to. (I wasn't too sure about my cut at first) There are so many thing you can do: baby pig tails, headbands, ribbions, clips, curly bobs, or really straight....the list goes on and on!

Just remember, if you don't end up liking your hair cut, at least you know it will grow back! :)

Well, there are a number of things that you could do. You could use some gels/creams/sprays that give your hair that relaxed look (Garnier Fructis and Bed Head have a great line of these products). Also, you could add soft curls to your hair (with curling iron or curlers). Last, you could apply a shampoo/conditioner that makes your hair get relaxed-looking curls. (Again, I reccomend Garnier Fructis products or Herbal Essences). Fourtunately for me, my hair does this naturally! Hope I helped! :)

5.curl with curling iron.

for a night? wash and blow it out straight with a gel or mousse. *or cream if its frizzes and is dry* use thermal protecting spray and hairspray and use a big curling iron (1 1/4 or 1 1/2) in sections. Pull it out sideways and hold the iron vertically and curl away from your face. once completely done, mist with flexible hold spray, break them up with your fingers and you're done! happy hairstyling

Okay I have curly hair too and I can easily get my hair like that. I rub some hair balm through my hair then put it in a braid and take it out after an hour. The trick is not to use too much balm otherwise the style goes flat after an hour.

I am not worried about being capable for the job, because I am extremely knowledgeable when it comes to bikes.

I am worried about my first impression though...

I am 16 years old. My hair is in the semi-long stage and is pretty unmanaged at the moment.

I planned on wearing blue-jeans and a T-shirt to the interview, it isn't really a fancy position, and the people that work there were that.

My main questions is:

If you were hiring, would a person's haircut matter much to you.

Also: I will probably get my hair cut tomorrow if I need to, so what style of short "du" do you think looks most professional.

(In my opinion I think I look better with short hair)

No. Just wash, comb, and pull it back in a ponytail. As long as you are groomed, then the long hair shouldn't matter. I would suggest you wear a pair of khakis, if you don't have any, just very, clean jeans, iron them, and wear a nice shirt. Good luck!

well for your job working on bikes i don't think it would be necessary to dress up in shirt and tie and all. Like you said a decent pair of jeans and decent shirt would probably be fine. The interviewer depending on age does get a turn off by the hair. If it is long and the interviewer is over 35 their probably not going to like the hair being long. Just from past expierence older people think it is a symbol of rebellion and laziness. If you look better with short hair cut it. The problem is the interview is tomorrow. Good luck!

Your look needs to depend on the position you are applying for. In general dress for the higher end for the place your are working for. So, maybe pull your hair back and where a nicer pair of pants and shirt that you would be willing to work in.

I always find it helpful to change places with the interviewer. In other words, imagine you are the one interviewing you. How would you perceive your look if you were hiring? Also kind short notice but if you know a little about the company you want to work for, it is a definite plus. Also come up with a couple of well thought out questions of your own, management loves the fact that a person has done some thinking and is interested in more than just the job! Lastly try not to think about it as a job interview, but more like a conversation, this takes alot of pressure off of you and creates a more fluid line of communication. Best of luck

my advise would me have a step cut since yours is a wavy hair and maybe u have a thick hair. if thin, u will have to style it every atlernate days to maintain a good look. u will look different and stylish, but make sure that u like the cut desired by you which will give u a confidence throughout your day.

I am an african american female, and I recently had extensions sewn in. My hair grew, and is thick and healthy... IN THE BACK! But in the front my hair is sooooooo thin and short because of the tension. You should cut off a few inches and put longer layers in it. It will bring back your curl and you can keep your length.

I have thick darkbrown brown natural curly hair and it is really long. Its a huge hassle to take care of it.. And it doesn`t look good when I leave it down. Makes me head look like a mountain, LOL. It gets so puffy.. I use panteen (sp?) mouuse and I usually tie it up. I`m thinking of getting it cut above my shoulders but below my ears.. But the shorter it is the more curly it is. I don`t want to look like shirly temple! Heh. Also, school is starting soon and I don`t want my hair to be in the way of it. I`m not allowed to straighten it in any way [ironing, that chemical stuff they do] so yep. I`m stuck with my giant ball of puff. I like panteen products.. Any way you girls use them? I just get a ton and like scrunch it in.. it doesn`t go on evenly though. I don`t brush it either, except in the shower or it gets all tangled. Its really annoying.. Don't brush AT ALL. EVER!!! In the shower, use a wide tooth comb to detangle with conditioner in your hair. This may explain the puffiness.

Leave 25% of the conditioner on the ends of your hair for extra protection

Squeeze the water out of your hair, never wring. Do not flip your head over or rub the hair briskly with the towel both methods will only fragment the curls and cause frizz.

Using outstretched fingers, comb through a leave-in conditioner.

Rub a small amount of gel between your palms and smooth the hands over the hair in one movement, from front to back as if you're gathering your hair into a ponytail. This delivers gel the hair's exterior to quickly control fly-away and baby hairs. Do this as soon as possible after showering for best results.

Section your hair into 6 parts. The top, bottom %26amp; Middle %26amp; left %26amp; right. The first section will be the nape of the neck to the middle of the back of the head. The second section will start at the back of the head and extend to the hairline. The last two sections will include the two sides. No matter how thorough you think you are, you won't get complete coverage with one large application of gel. Pin sections up %26amp; work one section at a time using small amounts of gel (Mousse creates volume %26amp; is better for the crown of your head)

Rub the gel between your palms and work into each section by combing your fingers through the hair from the scalp to the ends. As you apply, use your fingers to define each curl. Be sure to coat all of the hair in each section from roots to ends to close the cuticle layer of the hair. Any strands left uncovered will become frizzy and throwing off the even, puzzle-piece flow of your curls.

Leave your curls alone %26amp; don't overhandle them, they will frizz.

Air dry %26amp; your curls will look gorgeous.

My hair is super thick, and very frizzy. It's also curly. right now it's past my shoulders by like 4 or 5 inches, and still pretty puffy. i want to get my hair cut shorter and layer it, and then i can straighten it so it wont be all frizzed out. would it work for my type of hair? because the shorter you get it cut (with my type of hair atleast) the less weight there is holding it down, so therefore it will probably get even poofier. yuck.

Ok, it's good that ur getting it cut, but it won't take as long 2 straighten it with shorter hair. Start using a shampoo that'll make ur hair less frizzy and more straight. Pantene Pro-V and Sunsilk has some brands that'll work. My friend had the same problem, so she cut it and then used a good shampoo. Good luck! :-)

My hair used 2b the same way. Idk how old u are but by the third time I died it it got so much thinner. Try dyin it and cut it in layers, tell em to trim some off they use toothed scisors to trim excess hair off, but cuttin it a lot shorter doesn't work. Trust me I tried and I know u know too.

How do I style my hair with the CHI straightener (so that it is not so flat-I want a little volume)?

I have curly hair and I use the Ultra CHI (Tourmaline ceramic iron). I have no problem straightening my hair, but because it gets so long, I don't always like how flat it is (not straight, but flat...I like the straightness), and I do not want to cut it any because then when I wear it curly it will be too short. Any tips for doing something to add volume and/or flipping it, etc. (especially around my face)? I am set with the products I use, I am just looking for techniques. Thanks for any help!

This is the way the pros do it:

1) Blow dry your hair lifting from the roots to obtain the volume you want.

2) If you use a silkening product, only put it on the ends. DO NOT start at your scalp when straigtening, start around the ear if you have long hair. The weight of your hair will pull the area near the scalp straight.

3) Use the edge of the striaghtener like a curling iron. Around the face, take hair from behind the ear and pull it in the direction of your nose. Flatten in the direction of the hair and when the hair gets to the end of the iron, turn your wrist in towards your face to "bend" the hair. To flip back, do the opposite and pull the hair from behind your ear to the back of your head and turn the wrist out.

4) Use a rattail comb AFTER straightening to tease the hair in the areas that need volume, and use hairspray in that area only.

Another name for straightening iron is indeed flat iron. Generally, you can't get volume with a flattening iron unless you naturally have thick hair that has volume. Try lifting at the roots. Place a can of hairspray or just something round under a section of hair up at your roots and spritz with hairspray. Hold it for a moment. It'll create a lifting illusion and make your hair appear to be fuller. Also try flipping your head upside down and spraying with a bit of hairspray underneath. Let it dry, then flip your head back up and style.

my hairdresser uses this same straightner on my hair, (which is also naturally curly) before she uses that she sprays my hair with this volumizer by matrix, amplifier root lifter 3...it has a long tip to get near the root of your hair and gives it lots of volume, she sells it at the salon shes at, JC PENNEYs or any other salon would sell this stuff

but, knowing your hair type would help... but i would suggest using a light setting lotion (it's like water, either purple or blue). the bottle'll probably say dillute w/water, but i dont and wouldnt advise you to. anyway, when you're at your roots, put the chi right at your head and pull your hair up towards the sky. only straighten about 2-3 inches- it's going to look funny at first, but once u've gotten your whole crown done, use a big toothed comb to comb your hair out and you'll have instant volume

well, you should make sure your hair's dry when you sleep. and use loreal lasting curls for your hair. sea salt does give you wavier hair, but I wouldn't recomend it. the garnier won't make it any longer, but it will make it stronger. you should use garnier curl and shine. just wear it either down or half up

well my hair is totally similar to yours in all aspects. first of all, i would do the whole relaxer thing. beleive me, ive thought of it all as well. and its so hard to style when you have such hard to style hair! you know what i mean? well, just take care of your hair and try to do fun things with it for now. it WILL grow out, and thats all you can hope for. a relaxer will just damage your hair, and you dont want that.

Relaxing your hair will definitely damage it. I would not pay more than $100 if you do decide to have it done. I have naturally curly hair and decided years ago to quit fighting it. I purchase products made to tame frizz and enhance curl. I straighten my hair on rare occasion. I'd keep working to improve the health of my hair and learn to deal with the curl (get cuts that work with curl or if you straighten it every now and then).

i was in your shoes not to long ago. the stylist didnt listen to me when i told her i have LOTS of curls. she RAZORED my hair (BIG nono for curls/waves) and cut it so short i wanted to cry.

anyways, i have had my hair relaxed before when it was longer and it costs about 70 bucks. i would only reccomend this if you have the will power to use a quality deep conditioner often to keep the hair healthy. i wanted to relax it when it was cut too short, but didnt want to risk it with the blonde highlights i had. (dyed blonde hair is more prone to damage than virgin or darker hair)

Ive got really annoying hair (but only because i can fnd a style to suit me and one i like)...I remember when i was younger having my hair cut very short and it looked awful, from then, I grew my hair until i was fed up and had it cut very short (similar to my avatar length) - It stayed short for about 3 years and i've now let it grow again - Thinking that I might actually look nice with long hair (plus my husband prefers it).

I had it cut into a bob and the length stops just below my hairline (neck) so still short but i hate it - i makes me look fat in my opinion (maybe this is telling me its not framing my face properly).

Im just really fustrated as im not aginst trying new things but considering how long hair takes to grow (even when you are pregnant lol) i would really appreciate any tips, past experiences or links that might help me decide what is right for me as i have never quite found the right thing for me as i think its high time i did!

It looks good short but I hate short hair. I love wearing ball caps and I look like a boy if my hair is short. I love long hair but my hair never seems to do what I want it to do when it's longer.

The only time I liked it was when I had it permed, but one of my best friends told me to get out of the 80's and so I straightened it and it's been straight ever since...but I was comfortable in the 80's, the 80's were good to me and so I think I might just have to slip back once again...either that or shave my head! lol

i used to have EXACTLY the same problem and it used to bug the hell out of me!!! i had it long, got it cut short, hated it cos it made my face look fat, grew it got it cut again etc etc vicious circle!

so i got it cut just above my shoulders and had it layered and thinned out alot at the bottom. i also had a side parting and a side fringe and all i do is straighten it for about 5 minutes a day and leave it and it looks great!

i would grow yours a bit before you get this done though...

Search online, talk to your hairstylist, it depends on how far you are willing to go and always, once you find someone with a great knack for knowing you and your hair, always go back. Trims are a must, if you let your hair get too damaged it won't grow. Trims every 4-6 weeks. the type of brush you use could also be holding you back, talk to someone at Sally's that can tell you what each brush is for. Get a few hairstyle books, they have great tips on what new styles are out and what products do what. If you just want something quick, try to figure out if your face is heart, oval, squared, round, or triangular. then look at the faces in the hairstyle books set out, find one of the models with your face shape, this will give you something to go by. If you like your hair long, but don't like the weight, try getting your stylist to thin it out a bit without taking the volume away. Trust me it works! Use what god gave you and talk to whoever is doing your hair. Oh one more thing, if you ever hear scissors that scrape instead of snip your hair, get out of the chair! They have no idea what they are doing! Sharp scissors are a must to every hairstylist!

I wear mine very short. It is almost like a regulation military style, but it is a bit longer in the front. When I wash my hair I comb it all the way back and then push the top into a front wave and take about 1/2 of an inch and make a side bang.

Dudette (at least, I *hope* you're a "dudette"!), a "bob" is one of the easiest styles to take care of; literally, short and sweet. As a male with naturally wavy hair, I can say that it will take quite a bit of effort to tame it for a bob (not that I've ever had one, mind you!). A short "gypsy" style, which is great for wavy hair, may be more suitable.

Keep in mind that a "bob" really only works on thin or average bodies, so if you're chunky or "pleasantly plump" or anything beyond that, reconsider it, okay?

Regardless, try to be happy with who you are, and don't try to imitate what you see on TV or the movies!

I wish to have punk hair?

I am fifteen and of the opinion that scene kids are usually the most obnoxious members of society you can meet. However I have to admit a certain adoration of the 'scene' and 'punk' hairstyles. I am getting my hair cut next week and wish for some sort of idea of what to have done. At the moment I have just above shoulder-length hair with lots of choppy layers in.

I really want a shorter cut, the shortest I would be willing to have is ear length. However I want it in a 'punk' or 'scene' style. I know how to tease hair, as I frequently style my hair in that way, but now I want natural looking spikes rather then a certain poofiness.

As a child of the '70s and a punk of the '80s (though we prefered the term "individualist"), I have lots of experience in the "punk" hairstyles. One of the easiest (especially nowadays) is a change in color: purple, blue, red, and even green are lots of fun and you can even do stripes with multiple colors. From the time I was 15 to 18, I wore a mohawk which I absolutely adored. I don't get the impression you are interested in shaving parts of your head, but you could get a short buzz cut on the sides and spike the top up in a sort of pseudo-mohawk (leave the bangs and the back long, though). If you do cut your hair short, leave the side burn hair long. I used to do different things with these: skinny braids, banana curls, or just pointy. Lots of fun!

Before I got my mohawk, I had my hair dyed black with it all to one side and over my eye. At the time, a tail was "cool" but it might be considered "retro" now. :-)

After my 'hawk days, I dyed my hair platinum blond and spikey on top, with the underlayer (almost shoulder length) as black.

As an alternative to regular spikes, try the "liberty spike" style as an alternative which are large spikes.

Just have fun with it and do something you are comfortable with. And don't worry about what anyone else says - your hair style is for you, not for anyone else -whether you consider yourself "punk" or not!

So short that all I or she had to do was put a little hair spike glue in it to make the back of her hair stand up...it was VERY cute! I think you should get a grey eyeliner, a white shimmery shadow and a dark beige shadow, brown mascara, fair translusent pressed powder, a light pink blush and a clear gloss. In the morning, after washing your face, dust the pressed powder all over your face. Then put a little bit of blush on the apples of your cheeks. Put the dark beige eyeshadow in the crease of your eye (right above the lid) and put the white eyeshadow under your eyebrows and on the inner corner of your eye. Then lightly trace the outer corner of your eyelid with the grey eyeliner, and smudge it a little with your finger. Put mascara on the top lashes only, and then put on your gloss. I think this would look so nice on you...you probably don't need alot of colour because you have reddish hair and green in your eyes. These lighter colours are a good idea because even if you're not very good with makeup, these colours are universally flattering, and no one will notice if you make a slight booboo. Plus, I think that the lighter colours will really brighten up your face and open up your eyes (I have similar colouring and this is the makeup I use and I love it). Have fun!

i suggest to go with either a smokey look or an emerald green.

if you want to keep it lookin nautral, i suggest to use a sheer nude shadow from lid to brow line and use black eyeliner on the inside of your eyes. then curl your eye lashes and apply 2-3 coats of balck mascara.

the best mascara choice is probably Lash Exact.

I need some help, I'm a guy and know nothing about hair. =( I have used the same hairdresser for a long time now, and whilst I do not doubt her skills in the slightest, I figure I am just asking for the wrong thing.

Now, I know nothing about hair, products or styles and usually saying "just a general tidy up" gets it shorter, but not really with any thrills.

I have two problems really, one: whenever I wash my hair, once it's dried it becomes annoyingly fluffy, and makes me look stupid.

And second, which is kind of linked: my hair is always quite bulbous and would prefer it less geek looking, and more 'cool' and messed up.

What do I need to ask for, and any products I could use? Bearing in mind I don't like the gels that make your hair look wet, and really greasy. Thank you. :)

Try straightening your hair at night, and just pulling it back while you sleep. And then in the morning, when you wake up, just go over your hair again with the straightener to get out some kinks. Trust me - I do it daily =D.

here's an idea. before bed straighten your hair. that way you can quickly do it in the morning with out the frizy's. it probably will do to put a scarf on your head so it doesnt get messed up. or you can get it chemically straightend so, you dont have to straighten it every night.

or if you like waves but you can only get it if you wash your hair and air dry then try this: put your hair into 2 french braid's. make sure you put gel in your hair before the braiding.

then in the morning unravel your hair and watch the waves flow.

if that's too much to do then i suggest you get it cut.
