How can I get my hair to grow faster?

I have had a short style for about 8 years and I am wanting to grow it out now.

What are som techniques and/or products that I can use to help it grow faster?

Get regular trims. As your hair grows, it becomes more susceptible to damage and split ends. These split ends can actually travel up the hair shaft, causing strands to break prematurely. A trim every eight to 10 weeks can alleviate the problem.

Condition every day. While skipping a shampoo every other day is a great idea (too-frequent sudsing can cause hair to dry out), using conditioner every day is a must. Conditioner strengthens the hair shaft and keeps locks supple and pliable. This guards against breakage.

Watch hair accessories. Look for those that are smooth to the touch and don't have any metal parts that could snag or tear hair.

Go easy on the blow-dryer. Using a dryer every day can make hair dry and damaged -- not the healthy look you're going for with your long hair. As often as you can, allow hair to air-dry instead.

Include essential fatty acids in your diet. While nothing you eat can magically transform your hair, a diet rich in fatty acids such as omega-3s can help keep hair strong, shiny, and flexible. Omega-3s can be found in fish such as tuna and salmon.

*I also bought this vitamin, I saw a tremendous improvement in my hair length. My family noticed and friends too!

There is really nothing you can do to MAKE your hair grow, but there are things you can do to make it prettier and healthier:

1) Daily scalp massages rush nutrient-rich blood to the scalp, encouraging circulation and hair growth

2) Don't blow-dry it or put products in it, as this will cause brittle disgusting hair that has split ends, and you will have to cut it all of, thus defeating the purpose of trying to grow it

3) Take a multivitamin every day; one that has Omega 3 fatty acids and Vitamin E in it

4) Eat lots of fruits

DONT CUT IT!!!!!!!

How can I get my hair to grow faster?

There is really nothing. You have to be patient.

Never get it cut until designated length. You could get layers but still. Nothing will really work. get extensions.

Protein and lots of it. It will also make your nails grow faster.

When it comes to having beautiful, full hair my best answer would be henna. Make sure you don't use lemon or lime juice in your recipe when you make the henna as they can cause your hair to break if it's already weak. Rain water is usually acidic enough to get a nice colour out of the henna as well and won't harm your hair further. Try using the henna as often as you can it should thicken your hair and keep it healthy. If you don't want the red of the henna you may want to look for "neutral" or "colourless" henna. It will do as nice a job for your hair but without the colour. With the neutral henna you just have to mix it with tap water, this should be used as often as possible. If there are any skin problems on your scalp the henna or neutral henna will both help fight it. The last idea I have would be to take coconut oil and massage your head with it every night. Make sure when you're washing out the oil you're using a gentle shampoo, even better a shikaki powder. I wish you luck.
