Hair softness problem?

Well I just got my hair done yesterday and it look great! Its about shoulder length, blonde, side swept bangs, and short layers. My stylist of course made it look easy to style my hair to make it look as good as it did but when I got home %26amp; tried to do it myself the next day it didnt look good. It looked flat and my bangs didnt sweep across my forehead like I like, they just kinda sat to the side. I think the problem I have is my hair is really soft so its hard to style it. I dont know if that makes sense? Can anybody recomed anything? I was thinking about buying some root lifter %26amp; gel but im really horrible at figuring out how to apply it so that it looks good. Also is it best to apply gel before or after blow drying? Im sorry if Im not making any sense! Its kinda hard to explain. Any tips will be extremely appreciated!! I love my new hair %26amp; want to keep it looking good!!!! HOW?!??!?!

Hair softness problem?

you're problem isn't your hair softness, it's how you're styling it. try a mousse. I'm not sure the kind I use, but when i get out of the shower I apply it in on the roots very lightly.

But to have the sideswept bangs,

1.Blowdry your hair when it's wet.

2. Comb the bangs in the OPPOSITE direction you want them to go in. Don't ask me how this works, it just does.

That's ALL you do for the bangs. Don't apply any gels or anything unless you are hairspraying your bangs so they stay in place. Otherwise that is it.

Leave conditioner in EXTRA long!!

Maybe some conditioner that will give you lots of volume? I love the side swoop bangs!! I have them and they are hard to maintain...

Hair softness problem?

Use a volumizing mousse on your hair while it's damp. I'd reccomend Pantene.

Also, try Garnier Fructis Volumizing Shampoos %26amp; Conditioners. My hair is really fine too, and that worked well for me.

I would recommend a pomade for your hair. It works really well for styling, and it has a better hold than gel. Simple style your hair the best you can, then rub a small dab between your fingers and run it through the trouble spots in your hair :D

some simple styling sprais can hold hair in place better..call ur stylist and ask him!!

Hair softness problem?

apply gel after blow drying but make sure your hair isn't completely dry. if your hair is completely dry, mix the gel w/ a little water. learn to tease your hair.

like with any haircut, you'll get used to it.

I would go back to the stylists and ask more about how they did it.

I use gel, but key is rubbing it in your hands really good, then you rub it all through out your hair and shake your head, then you can comb it out so it won't look messy. You can also put spray in it if you think you need to, but spray sux! Good luck!

Peace.

Gel or Mousse will work fine. Nothing to heavy. Put it in when your hair is wet. Starting from the bottom up. When you blow dry your hair, do not put a brush in it until it is about 85% dry. When your hair is near dried take a round brush, start at the bottom doing sections at a time. Take your section and put the brush underneath it and the blow dryer on the top and work your way down the hair shaft. Do not hold the dryer underneath the section (this causes frizz) Go over the same section a 2-3 times until it is smooth. Takes some time and getting used to. Just take your time and your hair will cooperate. Hope that helps you!!

use head and sholders

First you should find out what hair products your stylist used and if you can use those. If those products are not within your budget try something simillar. I use texturizing cream in my hair and it does whatever I want it to. If your hair is flat I wouldn't suggest using gel. Try using hairspray just at the roots to give yourself some volume. I personally use Paul-mitchell reworks.

I love all Redken hair products that you can buy at some salons. They have this volumizing foam that you put in your hair when its wet that I think will help solve you problem. After you comb the foam through your hair blow it dry with a humongous round brush that well keep you hair from going flat. Root lifter is always good. Try a Paul Mitchell root lifter and use it also before you blow dry. Good Luck!

Don't leave in conditioner extra long! And don't use too much conditioner either. It makes your hair softer and harder to style. If you do use conditioner, use it only on the ends, or work it up and use a small amount. Also, I don't know if you got your hair colored, but if you did, hair is usually softer after it's colored because of the conditioner that's used afterwards. By the way, you shouldn't wash your hair every day. Every other day is better on it and if it's a little "dirty" then it's easier to style. Hope this helps!
